Today in class we read and finished the front page of “I’m Nobody! Who are you?” by Emily Dickinson What Dickinson is suggesting by saying she's a “nobody” means she’s not like other people, she isn’t what normal people would call normal. The term ‘nobody’ would mean she's not importanted, meaning she isn’t worth being anybody. She would love to be somebody, she would like to be normal or with people that would recognise her. She is saying that public life seems to be more appealing. You can hear a frog but you can’t see them, meaning that somebody well he heard but not seen. The metaphor deepens the meaning of her views because she just wants to be heard, not ignored. She wants to be heard but not seen, she would like to say things people would hear.
